Deaf Lost to AIDS

“Deaf Lost to AIDS,” at deafaids.info, contains information about deaf AIDS deaths from as recent as last year. Launched in 1995 by Drago Renteria, a Deaf trans AIDS advocate based in San Francisco, it has been updated on a consistent basis since then with the help of voluntary submissions from the community. Often, because of the way obituaries are worded to carefully obscure the cause of death, this site is the only way to know when a deaf person has died of AIDS--and the only place where shame does not shroud their lives.

During the display of Left Behind in Chapel Hall, the list through 2021 was displayed in full. Instead of presenting it again here, we invite you to visit the list directly for the most updated version.
